Are you (also) working in a multicultural team? Then - lucky you. Research indicates that companies in the top quartile for ethnic and cultural diversity outperform those in the fourth quartile by 36% in profitability! Well, that’s something! Since many of us now have experience working in multicultural teams these days, we better learn how to make the most of it!
Working in a multicultural team can be fun, challenging, hard, easy - all at the same time. It all depends on the effort we deliberately have put into building the team into a real-life high performing team, which, as we all know, requires time and energy. It doesn’t happen by itself.
In the webinar, we explored the essential elements of building a great multicultural team and why it paid off. Among other topics, we addressed the following questions:
- Why do we sometimes encounter conflicts when working in a multicultural team, and what are the best ways to mitigate these conflicts?
- What does it take to build a great multicultural team? And does it pay off - really?
- Can we make any generalizations about what it is like to work with people from specific regions of the world, or are we all more similar than we think?
- What are some real life examples of multicultural teams that function really well? What are the key factors that contribute to their success?
To enlighten us on the subject, we gathered an experienced panel:
